A court on Monday sent the three accused arrested in the Chandigarh University video case to police remand for a week. The police produced the three accused in a Kharar court in Mohali, Punjab, and sought their custody for 10 days.
Protests erupted on the university campus in Punjab’s Mohali on Saturday night after students alleged that a dormitory had recorded several videos of f***le st*dents in the common wa***oom.
Some students also claimed that the videos were viral. However, the university authorities dismissed these allegations as ‘false and baseless‘.
Speaking to reporters outside the court, Sandeep Sharma, counsel for the accused, said there were two videos – one of the fe**le accused and the other of another girl.
When asked about the allegations against the female student that she made offe****e videos of some students, Sharma said it was a matter of investigation.

Meanwhile, a police official said that the devices of the three accused will be sent for forensic examination.
The female student accused of making the videos was arrested by police, but said on Sunday that she only shared a video of herself with her 23-year-old “boyfriend”, who was arrested from Himachal Pradesh on Sunday.
A 31-year-old man from the hill state was arrested in the evening in this case. After that the two were handed over to the Punjab Police. Police have also seized the phones of the three accused, who are said to be friends.
The Punjab Police on Monday constituted a three-member all-women special investigation team to probe the matter. An FIR has been registered under Section 354-C (voyeurism) of the Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act, and further investigations are underway, police said.
